Our mission is to empower and engage young people in Iwuoha and beyond, and to create opportunities for youth development and involvement in various impactful initiatives.
Our vision is to ensure the survival and prosperity of families, households, and communities in Iwuoha, and to make a significant impact on various fronts such as community development, health, environmental sustainability, and energy provision.
Iwuoha Youth Movement Inc. believes that empowering young people, especially women, will lead to a brighter and more sustainable future for all.
Who is the Iwuoha Community?

The Iwuoha community is located within Nigeria, Africa.
Within Imo State, Nigeria there are 27 local governments. Of those 27 local governments is Aboh Mbaise. Within Aboh Mbaise is Enyiogugu. Within Enyoigugu is Oboama. Within Oboama is Ejealolo. Within Ejealolo is Iwuoha. The Iwuoha community is made up of 4 villages including Dibiaukwu, Umunwawa, Umuolekamma, and Umuonumonu. These villages are the direct beneficiaries of the Iwuoha Youth Movement's development efforts, as well as the communities in Ejealolo Oboama and Enyiogugu in its wider extension.


Who founded the Iwuoha Youth Movement?
The Iwuoha Youth Movement was founded by the youth population of Iwuoha during the genocidal Biafran War in 1968. This movement aims to empower and engage young people, focusing on creating opportunities for youth development and involvement through a variety of impactful initiatives. Iwuoha Youth Movement Inc. support's community development projects: including waste management, public health, poverty eradication, gender equality, and renewable energy solutions.
What does the Iwuoha Youth Movement do?
Iwuoha Youth Movement Inc. promotes race and gender equality. We believe it is necessary to designate safe spaces to accommodate the creative and industrial activities of empowered youth and women. This movement is dedicated to ensuring the survival of families, households, and communities in Iwuoha, making a significant impact on various fronts such as community development, health, environmental sustainability, and energy provision. It is essential for IYM to collaborate with various institutions and organizations, in efforts to deliver services such as agricultural support, social outreach, and health initiatives. These efforts will continue to pave the way for the development of external industrial activities within the communities.


What does the Iwuoha Youth need?
To this end, the Iwuoha community is in desperate need of electricity. Combating this despair requires provision of solar and wind-powered units to equally proliferate the idea of renewable energy solutions, along with collaboration with power transmission and distribution companies and NDDC supported transformers. Providing electricity to the Iwuoha community will directly support industrial growth in the community with the aim of expanding to neighboring communities.
